Are we going to be a good team?

We could   be  good together if...

... you appreciate the beauty of life and the grandness of the moments of pregnancy, labour and birth, but at the same time can enjoy a good laugh.

... you feel strongly that all three trimesters are significant and that birth is an important life event that shapes who we become.

... you are determined to have your birth go your way - together we will try our best, but also gracefully accept that medical staff know best.

... you are looking for compassionate non-judgemental support and positive encouragement in your corner.

... you believe fourth-trimester support is equally important and want a cooperative environment to practise self-care.

FAQs

What is a Doula?

A Doula is someone who is trained to provide continuous physical and emotional support to the
birthing person and any support people during childbirth and who may provide support to the
family after the baby is born. A Doula encourages those involved to make informed choices and advocate for themselves.

What is a Doula NOT?

A Doula is NOT a medical professional and will thus not perform any procedures or tests. A Doula will not speak to the medical staff on behalf of the birthing person or push proceedings in a certain way.
A Doula does not tell the birthing person what to do but rather helps them have their best birth possible.

Why do yoga during and after pregnancy?

Yoga is a great physical preparation for birth and learning meditative techniques for labour. Yoga can be a great and gentle first exercise postpartum and an excellent way to regain core strength. Some alone time and self care is important for new parents.

Why use placenta?

Taking placenta in capsules or a tincture has anecdotal evidence pointing to improvements in postpartum mood disorders and faster recovery after birth. It is widely practised in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is becoming increasingly popular in the Western world.

Why should you attend childbirth classes?

Mentally preparing yourself for the things to come is very important - find out which common practices to expect, which you can avoid and how you can go about having your best birth.
